The screens and step-by-step instructions presented here will guide you through several of the registration functions available in UI Direct registration. Similar instructions are available on each screen in UI Direct. Additionally, you can access detailed on-line help from any screen by typing "?" and pressing [Enter] at the appropriate location. On each screen, you will be presented with a variety of choices. Options will differ from screen to screen. To select an option, enter its corresponding letter or number at the designated arrow at the bottom of the screen, and press [Enter].

SOME IMPORTANT TIPS TO REMEMBER!!

• Use the [TAB] key to move from line to line. NOTE: After making a selection at one arrow, the cursor will automatically move to the next selection arrow.
• Press [ENTER] after you have completed your selections.
• If the keyboard is locked or not responding, try pressing [CTRL] "R", followed by TAB.
• Access to U of I Direct will be terminated if you are found to be making excessive unsuccessful registration attempts. The department office should be consulted if you need assistance in adding a particular course.

The first screen . . .
After you have correctly entered your Net ID and password, this screen will appear:

Type "c" to continue, and then wait.  This screen should appear:

Type "Y" and [ENTER] to continue.

The next screen will be the U of I Direct Main Menu.

UI Direct Main Menu:

At this point, you may choose several options.

You must now enter an option (A-F, J, or X) from the list of menu options along with the TERM FOR WHICH YOU WISH TO REGISTER from the "Choice of Terms" list. Then press [ENTER].

Note: When only one term is available, the system will automatically type that term for you.
