Guide to PLUS

+ Who Should Use PLUS?
Information is displayed in PLUS for all enrolled CU-Boulder main campus and Continuing Education students. PLUS is a convenient way for you to view your student account balance, class schedule and required books, semester grades, and Math Mod scores. You can also update your address or change your PIN. Using Degree Audit, you can check your progress in your degree program. By choosing the Computing Account and IdentiKey buttons you can create an e-mail account or IdentiKey.

+ Where Data Comes From
The data comes from the Universities' Student Information System (SIS) and Billing and Receivables System (BRS). Campus specific information comes from the responsible department, such as Telecommunication Services and the CU Book Store. The queries are made 'real-time' against the production systems whenever possible. When the systems are not available, day-old information is displayed. If day-old information is displayed, the notation PLUS Data will appear in the upper righthand corner of the page. Most of the pages have an "AS OF" time stamp.

+ Logging Into the Secure Area
To log in to the secure area, use your CU ID and PIN. If you enter a wrong PIN five times you will be closed out of the system for security reasons. If you are a Boulder main campus student and you need to have your PIN reset or can't remember your PIN, either go to the Office of the Registrar with a picture ID or call 303-492-6970. If you are a Continuing Education student and you need to have your PIN reset or can't remember your PIN, go to 1221 University Avenue or call 303-492-5148.
+ Log Out When You Are Finished
To preserve the privacy of your own information, hit the log out button when you are finished using the secured area of PLUS!
+ Help
If after reading this guide you still have questions or need help, contact the ITS Help Desk by sending an e-mail message to plushelp@colorado.edu, calling 303-735-4357, or stopping by the ITS Service Center in the Telecommunications Building, Monday through Friday during normal University business hours.
+ Browser Requirements
You can use either a Netscape or Internet Explorer browser, but the PLUS pages are best displayed using a Netscape browser. Lynx browsers will not work with PLUS.
+ Navigation
Use the navigation buttons on the left side of the screen to move through the PLUS menus. Don't use the back button, because in most cases you will encounter a "Data Missing" error. At this point it will tell you to use the "Reload" key. This will work if it has not been very long since you first loaded the page, but you may get a message after reloading that says the page has expired with a link back to the top. At this point you should log in again.

+ Automatic Return to PLUS Page
When displaying private information, the browser is told to automatically go to the PLUS home page after a certain amount of time. At that time you will have to log in again.

+ PLUS
PLUS is operated by Information Technology Services in cooperation with Student Affairs Communications and University Management Systems. Major support and feedback is provided by the Office of the Registrar, Continuing Education, the Bursar's Office, staff in each college and school, Telecommunication Services, and the CU Book Store. Many thanks to students, staff, and faculty who helped in the design and testing process. PLUS will be enhanced on an on-going basis and we welcome your feedback.
