Supporters

Our special thanks go to the people whose good will, great ideas, effort, patience and encouragement have improved the quality and enjoyment of this project. Thanks, everyone!

Steve Klenk

Steve Klenk participated in the LAAP project initial planning meeting in Boulder, Colorado on February 17 and 18, 2000. His presentation, entitled "Process Redesign," discussed how to redesign student services processes and organizations from an institutional ("big picture") perspective, with special emphasis on understanding and addressing the needs of the student.

Burnie Blakely

Burnie Blakely, a Solution Architect with IBM Corporation, contributed significantly in the planning, designing and review phases of this project. He taught the project partners to use UML and scenarios as a way of communicating between subject matter experts and IT staff. Bernie made UML believers of the partners because it helped them visualize how their development process could proceed without reference to a specific technology. At the project end, Burnie brought his analytical, editing and graphics skills to the development of the guidelines and lessons learned.

Burnie also participated in our webcast series. He was the guest expert on Bridging the Communications Gap between Student Services and IT Staffs.

Matt Wasowski

Matt was our contact at HorizonLive. A corporate member of WCET, HorizonLive contributed the first six webcast slots used to create the series, "Providing Student Services to Distance Learners." Matt answered our innumerable questions and made sure our presentation material looked good and functioned well.

Beth Dupuis, Darlene Burnett, Mike Leonard, Donna Ford, Cyndi Rowland, Bill Haid, Dan Volchok, Mike Tagawa, Marianne Phelps, Norm Finlinson, Burnie Blakeley, Mel Chastain, Ellen Waterman and Peggi Munkittrick

In addition to their busy professional lives, these webcast guests prepared their own material and spent several hours practicing with us. Then they spent 1.5 hours live online sharing their knowledge and answering audience questions. Doing a webcast is a lot of extra work, and we really appreciate their effort.

Denise Easton

As President of ULiveandLearn, Denise provided a new home for the webcast series when HorizonLive reorganized. Denise made the transition to another technolgy producer smooth and let us continue the webcasts — within budget too.
